DAY 1 : Arrive in Colombo, Pinnawala Elephant orphanage, Dambulla
Welcome to Colombo, Sri Lanka! Your serene Sri Lanka tour starts today. After completion of visa formalities, we proceed to Pinnawala – well known for its elephant orphanage, which is a nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. In the evening, we arrive in Dambulla, which is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex of Sri Lanka.Overnight at Hotel Kassapa Lions Rock or similar, Sigiriya (D)
DAY 2 : Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Matale Spice Gardens, Kandy
After breakfast, proceed to visit Sigiriya rock fortress (also known as Lion rock) the famous Frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens and the archeological wonder. Later we visit the Golden temple of Dambulla – the ancient cave temple and the tallest Buddha statue. Then visit spice gardens at Matale and proceed to Kandy – home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic. DAY 3 : Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Traditional Sri Lankan Dance Show
Today we explore the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. Later we visit Kandy Lake, Temple of the Tooth Relic, Kandy Town, Bazaar, Arts and Crafts centre, Gems museum and Lapidary. In the evening, we enjoy the traditional Sri Lankan dance show. Overnight at Swiss Residence or similar, Kandy (B, L, D)
DAY 4 : Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Sita Ammantemple, Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast we visit the Anjaneyar (Hanuman) temple of Ramayana Trail in Ramboda, followed by a visit to tea factory. Then we proceed to Hakgala and visit the Sita Amman Temple – according to tradition, the site is associated with Sita of the Ramayana epic, ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on a side of the temple. Then we visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens (Ashok Vatika) – one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana. Then proceed to Nuwara Eliya – the most important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. Overnight at Galway Forest or similar, Nuwara Eliya (B, L, D)
DAY 5 : Nuwara Eliya, Bentota
Today we proceed to Bentota – famous for its toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar. We enjoy boat ride in Bentota. Overnight at Induruwa Beach resort or similar, Bentota (B, L, D)
DAY 6 : Kelaniya Temple, Colombo
Today we proceed to Kelaniya – known for its Buddhist temple situated on Kelani river. On arrival, we visit Kelaniya Temple and a shrine dedicated to king Ravana’s brother – Vibushana and then proceed to Colombo. Overnight at Sapphire or similar, Colombo (B, L, D)
DAY 7 : Colombo, Return Home with eternal memories
Today we enjoy city orientation tour, which includes Hindu and Buddhist temple, 100 years old clock tower, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and British built colonial buildings. In the evening, we enjoy shopping in the House of Fashion mall. Then proceed to the airport.
